Support Kitsap’s Great Give on Tuesday, April 11
What is the Great Give? The Kitsap Great Give on Tuesday April 11, is a 24 hour on-line giving event for local non-profit agencies organized by Kitsap Community Foundation. All participating agencies have had their tax-exempt status confirmed by the Foundation. Kitsap’s Great Give is a convenient way for everyone to support their favorite local charities. The minimum donation is $10. All of the funds go to the agencies, less website and credit card processing fees. Each agency is also eligible for a 10-20% bonus from a pool created by the sponsors of the Great Give.
Which agencies in Greater Hansville are taking part? There are three registered participants:
Greater Hansville Community Center (GHCC), which seeks to increase its Endowment Fund;
Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club (FJGC), supporting local educational, horticultural and conservation programs like the Buck Lake Native Plant Garden;
Hansville Helping Hands (HHH), which maintains care for the Hansville Cemetery and families in need.
You can find each agency profile under Community Improvement (GHCC), Education (FJGC) and Human Services (HHH) or simply write the agency’s name in the Search feature of the Kitsap Great Give’s website www.kitsapgreatgive.org
How does the process work? Prospective donors should go to www.kitsapgreatgive.org . They will find a multi-give form where they can donate to as many non-profits as they wish in one transaction. The transaction will process immediately and they will be issued an electronic receipt. If it is inconvenient to donate on April 24, early donations will be accepted from Tuesday, April 10 onwards; however, no donations will be accepted after midnight on April 24.
What if you don’t want to donate on-line? It is fine to mail a check made out to the Foundation from April 10 onwards. Be sure to designate the name of the recipient agency at the bottom left hand corner of the check. Send your envelope to:
