This page is intended to guide first time users through an initial setup of the Zoom app on their home computer or any handheld device which has a browser and internet access.  If you are reading this page, you have the necessary hardware and software to use Zoom.

Start by clicking on the invitation to a webinar event. This will automatically initiate a request to access Zoom. If you have not previously downloaded Zoom to your computer, you will be asked if you want to do that. Click on “Yes”. It should take a minute and there is no charge. This can be done prior to the day of the webinar, but of course you won’t be able to access it until its scheduled start time.  However you have done the important setup for your system to allow access for future use of Zoom for webinars or meetings. You can stop here by quitting Zoom.  Then on the day of the event, you should click on the link to the webinar which will be found on the home page of hansville.org.

Once Zoom opens, click on “Join with Computer Audio,” otherwise you will not be able to hear the presentation. You will be directed into a virtual waiting room.  Your screen will read “Please wait the host will let you in soon”.  The host will admit you to the webinar at the start time for the event.

If you have a question for a presenter you can send them a message via the host using the chat box. While the webinar is in progress, click “Chat” in the meeting controls at the bottom of the screen. This opens the chat box so that you can type a message. Or you can just relax and enjoy the experience
